Retirement Costs that won’t be increasing in 2015

Some great news for retirees who are on fixed budgets, which are often stretched by their medical expenses. Medicare Part B and all related deductibles for 2014 will remain the same as they were in 2013 and 2014. This means that retirees will not spend any of the costing of living increase in their Social Security benefits a 1.7% increase on higher Medicare premiums.

Medicare does provide medical insurance for the retirees who are eligible who have attained age 65 and for certain disabled beneficiaries who are under 65.  Monthly premiums for 2015, Medicare Part B covers outpatient medical expenses will remain the same ($104.90 per month). Higher premiums will apply to the retirees who have incomes above a threshold of $85,000 a year for single filers and $170,000 each year for those who are joint filers. Annual deductibles for Part B in 2015 will stay unchanged at $147.00
